The Yankee Springs Time Trial has been in existence for over 20 years.  The race is the third largest turnout mountainbike event in Michigan and has exceeded 700 racers who annually test their start of the year fitness on 11 miles of some of the most advanced and well-maintained single track in the state.

MiSCA to Sponsor Scholastic Team Awards at Yankee Springs and Ft. Custer Races in 2013

The Michigan Scholastic Cycling Association (MiSCA) will present scholastic team awards at the Yankee Springs TT and Ft. Custer cross country races in 2013. Both of the races are part of the Michigan Mountain Biking Association Champion Points Series and the first two events in the ten race series.

MiSCA will score the top four riders of the team, and the team that earns the best score will be declared the scholastic team winner for the race. Students may form their own teams of up to five racers  and sign up at the MiSCA tent on the day of the race. There is no charge to enter. Teams can be male or female, or coed, and can be any combination of up to five riders in the 11-14, JV, and Varsity classes. Students do not have to be on a current team to participate.

The Michigan Scholastic Cycling Association is a non-profit corporation that works to establish and maintain safe, quality scholastic cycling programs. The Association is responsible for establishing a program that will:

Provide support to schools and organizations wishing to establish scholastic cycling clubs and teams.   Develop and maintain an interscholastic competition series to promote the sport of cycling and
allow kids to build fitness and compete in a healthy, outdoor environment.  Promote the value of cycling to our youth and community as a mode of transportation and as a lifelong sport.
