The 23rd annual Yankee Springs Time Trial was a HUGE success thanks to all the racers and volunteers.  700 racers sold out our pre-registration and another forty racers showed up day-of to participate in the kick-off event of the mountain bike season.  We are already considering improvement ideas for 2013 including how to allow for up to 1000 racers!

The weather was cool but mostly clear the whole day. The course was fast and packed due to a short rainstorm during the previous day.   Mike Anderson of North Country Cycle Sport crushed the course with what we think is a record time of 1:25:46 for the two lap elite event

Steve Makuch won the green Blunt rims and is looking to build them up himself!

Steve Makuch was super-excited to win the white Blunt wheelset- notice he’s already got a set on his bike.. which he said is now dinged up with a couple years of steady use- the new wheelset is likely already on the bike and been on a trail!

The Yankee Springs Time Trial has been in existence for over 20 years.  The race is the third largest turnout mountainbike event in Michigan and has exceeded 600 racers who annually test their start of the year fitness on 11 miles of some of the most advanced and well-maintained single track in the state.
